Brnabic concludes attendance at World Governments Summit in Dubai

DUBAI - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Tuesday concluded her attendance at the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai, where she held many bilateral meetings with officials and took part in forums and discussion panels.

Earlier in the day, Brnabic attended the signing of a Serbia-UAE MoU on cooperation in development and application of artificial intelligence (AI), concluded by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence on the Serbian side and the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) on the UAE side.

The MoU was signed by Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic, Institute for Artificial Intelligence Director Dubravko Culibrk and ATRC Secretary General Faisal Al Bannai.

Brnabic met with Oracle Executive Vice President Mike Sicilia and agreed an expansion of cooperation between Serbia and the US IT giant.

She also spoke with Sierra Leone PM David Sengeh to discuss opportunities for boosting bilateral economic cooperation.

On Monday, the first day of her visit to Dubai, Brnabic met with UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Omar Sultan Al Olama to discuss the capabilities and the potential of AI.

She also spoke with Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Kamal Madbouly about possibilities for signing a Serbia-Egypt FTA.

On the sidelines of the summit, Brnabic also spoke with UAE Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Cuban PM Manuel Marrero Cruz, World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Secretary General Mathias Cormann and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

Addressing a panel on the future of mobility, Brnabic said Serbia would continue to invest in its railways and also outlined the country's activities in the innovation sector.
