BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric received Kazakh Deputy FM Roman Vasilenko in Belgrade on Thursday, noting that Serbia wanted to boost cooperation with Kazakhstan in all areas.
At the same time, Djuric thanked Kazakhstan for its consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
He informed Vasilenko of the most recent developments in Kosovo-Metohija, noting that Serbs in the province were targeted by violence, pressure and various forms of discrimination by the Pristina provisional self-government institutions on a daily basis.
Djuric said Serbia and Kazakhstan were traditionally friendly countries that shared the same values and, often, the same challenges, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
He noted that Serbia wanted to boost its cooperation with Kazakhstan in all areas, in the economy in particular, and said he hoped Kazakh companies would honour an invitation to take part in organising the specialised EXPO 2027, to be hosted by Belgrade.
Speaking about further advancement of bilateral relations, Djuric said the opening of the Kazakh embassy in Belgrade five years ago had lent an additional impetus to strengthening the ties between the two countries.
Vasilenko was in Belgrade for the third session of a Serbia-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
