Dacic: Man arrested for calling for jihad, sharing photos containing ISIL symbols

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday police had arrested a man suspected of the criminal offence of publicly instigating terrorist acts.

The arrest took place in Novi Pazar, southwestern Serbia.

"The suspect has been administering Facebook accounts where calls to jihad and photos and footage containing ISIL symbols and glorifying ISIL, its members and their suicide attacks were shared publicly. Posts glorifying the attack on a police officer outside the Israeli embassy in Belgrade as well as the attacker were seen on the same account," Dacic said.

Devices assumed to have been used to administer the accounts were found during a search of the suspect's flat, conducted on an order from the Special Organised Crime Department of the Higher Court in Belgrade.
