CHISINAU - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening he had had a difficult discussion with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about an escalation of violence in Kosovo-Metohija.
They met during a European Political Community summit in Chisinau.
"A difficult discussion with President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about a repeated escalation of violence in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as about the current regional and global situation and Serbia's European future," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile.
He noted the necessity of investing additional joint efforts to de-escalate the situation and continue dialogue, as well as Serbia's crucial role in maintaining peace and efforts to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue, rather than through provocations and irresponsible unilateral moves.
"I reiterated our country's positions also as regards the most significant global geopolitical developments and noted that Serbia remains a consistent and dependable partner in maintaining regional peace and stability, guided primarily by national and state interests," Vucic added.
