KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Thousands of Serbs gathered in northern Kosovska Mitrovica on Friday for a peaceful protest march in support of three Serbs recently arrested by Pristina's police - Milun Milenkovic Lune, Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic.
Defying bad weather and rain, the protesters were led by children from a local kick boxing club where Milenkovic works as a coach and by friends and family members of the arrestees, a Tanjug reporter said.
The protesters carried banners reading "Stop the terror against innocent Serbs", "The North was peaceful before Kurti's special police came", "We are all Lune", etc.
Kosovo-Metohija Sports Association President Goran Kovac said the goal of the protest was to support the Serbs unjustly incarcerated by Pristina, which has placed them in custody.
"They will hear and see this, someone will let them know. As long as they are there, we will be here, too, and we will be supporting them so that they are finally released and that they can be here with us," Kovac said, announcing further protests.
