European Commission confirms Serbia's progress in major areas

BRUSSELS - In its annual report on Serbia, the European Commission says the country has made progress on judicial and media reforms and on aligning with the EU foreign policy, diplomatic sources have told Tanjug.

The report commends two recently adopted media strategy laws - the Law on Public Information and the Media and the Law on Electronic Media, the sources said.

Unlike last year's report, which noted a regression on alignment with the EU foreign policy, the 2023 report says Serbia has made progress in the field.

The new report will be released in Brussels on Wednesday, along with progress reports on all membership candidate countries and potential candidates including, for the first time, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
