BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Thursday Serbia would continue to fight against the adoption of a Srebrenica resolution in the UN and noted that a vote on a draft resolution had already been postponed three times.
"That is also a result of the fight by (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic and the entire team, but also shows that Serbia's voice is being heard and respected more than ever," Brnabic said.
If the so-called Kosovo's Council of Europe (CoE) membership application fails to make it to the agenda of next week's CoE Committee of Ministers session, that, too, will be a result of Vucic's diplomatic work, Brnabic told Tanjug.
She said this was also a result of Vucic's personal influence and his discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and some other European leaders.
Vucic reminded the European leaders they had broken their promise the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities - which is still pending - is the precondition for the so-called Kosovo's CoE admission, she said.
She said the Serbian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe had put up a "phenomenal" fight in its attempt to keep Pristina's application off the agenda.
Brnabic also noted that the Srebrenica resolution was directly aimed against Serbia as Bosnia and Herzegovina FM Elmedin Konakovic had said Sarajevo would use the resolution to sue Serbia for war reparations.
