BELGRADE - Serbia has succeeded in achieving good economic results and maintaining macroeconomic and fiscal stability despite a pandemic and a global energy crisis, State Secretary at the Finance Ministry Gojko Stanivukovic said on Thursday.
Stanivukovic said this after a meeting with Michael Miller, head of the Serbia and Montenegro unit at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, with whom he discussed a 2023-2025 Economic Reforms Programme, recently adopted by the Serbian government and submitted to the European Commission on January 31.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Finance, Stanivukovic noted that, amid fresh risks resulting from disruptions in the energy sector, Serbia was striving for consistent and continued fiscal sustainability, improvement of the business environment and support for further integration of young people in the job market and an energy sector reform.
"We want Serbia to remain committed to the European perspective, as well as to activities and projects envisioned by the green transition agenda, and also to the digital transformation process," Stanivukovic said, adding that the ERP was considered as one of the government's most significant strategic documents in that context.
