Red Star Belgrade demolish Fiorentina in pre-season friendly

BELGRADE - Serbian football champions Red Star Belgrade demolished Italian side Fiorentina 5-0 in a pre-season friendly in Belgrade on Wednesday evening ahead of the start of the Serbian Superliga.

In front of 36,822 spectators at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, Red Star's Peter Olayinka opened the scoring in the 9th minute after a blunder by a Fiorentina defender and Jean-Philippe Krasso made it 2-0 just two minutes later following an assist by Mirko Ivanic.

In the 14th minute, Ivanic netted with a low drive from 13-14 yards out, Olayinka scored his second goal of the game in the 24th minute and Osman Bukari converted a penalty shot in the 27th minute to make it 5-0.

Krasso hit the post from point-blank range in the 36th minute.

Omri Glazer excelled in the Red Star goal as the first half drew to a close.

Both coaches made several changes in the second half and the tempo waned significantly, and the visitors did not succeed in scoring a consolation goal.
