SUBOTICA - An upgrade of the Belgrade-Budapest rail line, agreements on reconstruction of the Szeged-Subotica rail line and delays at border crossings were the topics of Monday's meeting between Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Transport Zorana Mihajlovic and Hungarian Minister of Innovation Laszlo Palkovics.

Mihajlovic said upgrading and rebuilding the Belgrade-Budapest line was a priority project for Serbia, which she said would soon sign a financial agreement for the Novi Sad-Subotica section - the last in Serbian territory - with Hungary to sign a contract on execution of works.

According to a statement from her ministry, Mihajlovic added she expected "a full high-speed rail line in Serbian territory to be completed in the next three to three and a half years."

The governments of the two countries held a joint session in Subotica after the meeting.
