SUBOTICA - Hungarian investments in Serbia are not only welcome but also a very important element of the Serbian economy, Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said Monday after the governments of Serbia and Hungary held a joint session in Subotica, northern Serbia.

Talks about new investments - in particular in the agriculture and food industry sector - are underway with Hungary, she said at a press conference with Hungarian PM Viktor Orban.

Brnabic said economic growth, job creation and the citizens' ability to choose jobs were the priorities of her government and that this would help increase wages and improve the living standards at the same time.

"All investments in Serbia are more than welcome, especially investments from friendly countries such as Hungary," she said.

She also announced the two countries would work on an agreement on comprehensive strategic partnership.
