SREMSKI KARLOVCI - The Hungarian petroleum company MOL on Tuesday opened a depot in Sremski Karlovci, northwestern Serbia, for environmentally friendly storage and processing of fuel stocks.

"The MOL depot in Sremski Karlovci is the company's biggest investment in Serbia in the 15 years of its operations in this country. This investment, too, reaffirms that Serbia and Hungary are strategic partners... Hungarian investments in Serbia are worth over half a billion euros," said Hungarian Ambassador to Belgrade Attila Pinter, noting that Hungary was aiming to further strengthen and expand economic and political cooperation with Serbia.

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic said the opening of the depot was significant not only for MOL but for the overall petroleum business and Serbia's energy system as well.

This investment reaffirms that "Serbia is a stable country for foreign investments," Antic said.
