RUMA - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic on Tuesday attended a display of new arms and military equipment and devices that are in the final stage of testing before being included in the Serbian Armed Forces' arsenal.

The display took place at the Nikinci centre for testing new arms and military equipment.

Vucevic was able to see that the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces will be significantly boosted by the induction of new complex combat systems developed at the Military Technical Institute and defence industry plants, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Serbia is investing continuously in equipping its army with modern arms and equipment, Vucevic said, adding that the display at the Nikinci testing range had made it clear that a decision by Serbia's top state and military officials that the country must rely on its own defence capabilities had proven to be wise and far-sighted.

He announced the Serbian Armed Forces would continue to receive leading-edge military equipment with a view to further boosting the army's combat readiness and the safety and security of all citizens.

On display at Nikinci were new series of Milos 4x4 armoured combat vehicles and PASARS self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery and missile systems, a Milos crewless platform, a BVP M-80 AB1 modernised infantry combat vehicle, a BOV OT 4x4 APC and various types of new infantry and artillery ammunition and other equipment.
