BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Monday he was very pleased with the way Serbian Armed Forces personnel and reservists had performed all of their tasks during a recent state of heightened alert following an escalation in Kosovo-Metohija.
At a press conference after a meeting with President Aleksandar Vucic that addressed the state of affairs in the army in 2022, Vucevic said he was satisfied because the response of the troops had never been better and because their fighting spirit and level of training were high and very good.
"A part of the conclusions is that Serbia will continue to invest in its defence system to boost Serbian Armed Forces capacities," Vucevic said.
Asked if a motion for Serbia to join NATO could soon be tabled in the parliament, Vucevic responded that Serbia had its official policy but was under additional pressure as a militarily neutral country.
