BELGRADE - Serbia plans to request a UN Security Council session to warn the international community of the situation in Kosovo-Metohija, Serbian FM Ivica Dacic announced on Friday, adding that, in case a session is held, Serbian President Vucic would attend it.

"It is the most current topic at this time because our people in Kosovo-Metohija are practically subjected to terror. Pristina authorities respect no resolutions, UNSC Resolution 1244 or the Brussels Agreement, they do not even respect de-escalation plans brought by mediators," Dacic told reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pristina's unilateral actions complicate the situation in Kosovo-Metohija further, he added.

"In that regard, in view of the fact the UN SC is the body that has adopted a resolution that is still in force, Serbia intends to launch an initiative and submit a request for a session to be held, but that would require support from UN SC members," Dacic said.

Vucic wants to inform the international community of the situation and to warn and remind it that international forces are responsible for the safety of Serbs and all citizens in Kosovo-Metohija and must take responsibility for the situation on the ground, Dacic said.

"If the session is held, President Vucic will attend it. We will see in the days to come - as he has announced himself, he will see when there will be a discussion with the NATO secretary general and what further time frames, including regarding an UN SC session, will be like," Dacic said.
